Abstract
These Regulations implement for Ireland, insofar as bovine breeding animals, their semen, ova and embryos, are concerned, the provisions of Council Directive 2005/24/EC (with regard to the use of ova and embryos and storage centres for semen from pure-bred breeding animals), Commission Decision 2005/379/EC (laying down the particulars to be included on pedigree certificates for intra-Community trade), Commission Decision 2006/16/EC (amending import conditions for bovine semen), Commission Decision 2006/60/EC (in relation to animal health certification for intra-community trade in embryos of domestic animals of the bovine species), Commission Decision 2006/427/EC (laying down performance monitoring methods and methods for assessing cattle s genetic value for pure-bred breeding animals of the bovine species), Commission Decision 2007/240/EC (in relation to veterinary certificates for imports into the Community) and Commission Decision 2007/371/EC (regarding herd books for animals of the bovine species).
