Abstract
These Regulations amend the European Communities (Vessel Traffic Monitoring and Information System) Regulations 2010 for purposes of implementing Commission Directive 2011/15/EU, which amends Directive 2002/59/EC establishing a Community vessel traffic monitoring and information system. They: update the safety criteria regarding certain oil-tanker products; substitute a new format in Schedule 3 which deals with voyage data recorder systems; extend the powers of intervention in the event of incidents or accidents at sea; remove certain communication obligations of any company in the event of an incident or accident at sea; and amend certain references in Regulation 16.
