Abstract
These Regulations amend the European Communities (Welfare of laying hens) Regulations 2002 by modifying the definition of "Commission Directive". This definition refers to Commission Directive No. 2002/4/EC implemented by the principal Regulations and now amended by Commission Directive No. 2006/83/EC. The principal Regulations are also amended in Regulation 4 with respect to conditions for keeping a laying hen in a barn or free-range system.
