European Union (FLEGT Licensing Scheme for Imports of Timber) Regulations 2015 (S.I. No. 251 of 2015).

These Regulations give effect to Council Regulation (EC) No 2173/2005 (as amended) on the establishment and implementation of a FLEGT licensing scheme for imports of timber into the European Union. The Regulations, among other things: designate the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine as the competent authority for the purposes of EU Regulation; prohibit the import of timber products without a FLEGT licence; prescribe offences or having in possession or under control or moving within Ireland a timber product that has been imported without such licence; provide for appointment and functions of authorised officers; prescribe offences.
