European Union (Properties of Waste which Render it Hazardous) Regulations 2018 (S.I. No. 383 of 2018).

These Regulations amend the Waste Management Act, 1996 by substituting a new Schedule for the Second Schedule. That Schedule specifies properties of waste which render it hazardous. By doing so, the Regulations provide for measures to protect the environment and human health by preventing or reducing the adverse impacts of the generation and management of waste and by reducing overall impacts of resource use and improving the efficiency of such use and transpose Directive 2008/98/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 19 November 2008 on waste and repealing certain directives. n particular, these Regulations provide for the transposition of Council Regulation (EU) 2017/997 of 8 June 2017 amending Annex III to Directive 2008/98/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council as regards the hazardous property HP 14 Ecotoxic .
