Abstract
These Regulations make provision with respect to food information to be provided to consumers. They give effect to Community Regulations in this field and apply to food business operators at all stages of the food chain, where their activities concern the provision of food information to final consumers. Food information means information concerning a food, made available to the final consumer by means of a label, other accompanying material, or any other means including modern technology tools or verbal communication. The Regulations define various offences and provides or inspection and enforcement. A food business operator is guilty of an offence if he or she supplies food which is not accompanied by food information in accordance with Regulation (EU) No. 1169/2011. Also provision of misleading, unclear or inaccurate information is defined as offence.
