Abstract
Part 2 of the Act provides for the regulation of veterinary medicinal products and medicated feed; this includes prohibitions on prescriptions and dispensing. A person who is not a veterinarian shall not issue a veterinary prescription. A person who is not a veterinarian, pharmacist or person permitted under regulations, shall not dispense a veterinary medicinal product subject to a prescription. The Minister may make regulations in relation to the prescription and dispensing of veterinary medicinal products, medicated feed or human medicinal products if prescribed for an animal or a class of animal. The Part also requires the Minister to establish and maintain a database ( national database ) on which veterinary prescriptions and dispensing of veterinary prescriptions shall be recorded. Chapter 3 under Part 2 provides rules on retails such as labelling, restrictions, prohibitions, exemptions, veterinary medicinal product retailer s licence, obligations and training requirements, storage, advertising etc.
Amendments of Fertilisers Feeding Stuffs and Mineral Mixtures Act 1955 entail amendment of definitions, of licences under section 5 of Act of 1955, and provide for the establishment of Fertiliser Economic Operators Register.
