Veterinary Medicinal Products Regulations 2024 (S.I. No. 462/2024).

These Regulations supplement in Irish law Regulation (EU) 2019/6 relating to veterinary medicinal products and Regulation (EU) 2019/4 relating to medicated feed and provide that the issuing and dispensing of medicinal products is subject to a veterinary prescription. Moreover the Regulations clarify: maximum validity period for a veterinary prescription; elements of prescription; prescription of antiparasitic veterinary medicinal products for non-therapeutic purposes in food-producing animals and assessment protocol set out in the Schedule; record keeping for veterinarians and owners and keepers of food-producing animals; matters on the retail and wholesale of veterinary medicinal products; retail at a distance; storage; advertising; setting fees in relation to licences issued; the operation of the national database.
