Abstract
This Law, divided in Three Parts and 21 sections, gives definitions and makes provisions for the improvement of Domestic Goats production. Part 1 sets general rules. Section 1 gives definitions. A domestic goat is defined as a white goat that does not have to pasture outside the borders of the place in which it is held. Section 2 provides for the appointing of an Advisory Board by the Minister of Agriculture. Part 2 deals with Domestic Goats. Sections 3, 5 and 6 provide for rules regarding the approval of a Billy-goat as suitable for reproduction purposes. Section 4 establishes conditions and operational targets for an agricultural organization to be authorized by the director of the sheep department to operate inspections and supervision tasks regarding milk production and general inspection services. Section 7 regards obligations concerning the holder of reproductive billy-goat. Sections 8-10 regard the annulment of a reproduction authorization in case of disease or if negative hereditary signs have been found in the billy-goats descendants. Section 11 and 12 regards Folds. A billy-goat, elder than three months must be kept in a fold authorized by the director. Sections 13 and 14 regard the selling and slaughtering of a reproduction billy-goat that is prohibited unless authorized by the director. Whenever death, theft or loss of a reproduction billy-goat has occurred, the goat’s holder must notify the director within three days. Section 15 regards Appeals procedures. Section 16 prohibits any contact between a goat and a billy-goat that is not registered as a reproductive billy-goat. The inspector has the power to castrate a billy-goat that is held not according to this regulation. Section 16 regards procedures in case of a goat pregnancy.
