Plant and Plant Products Exportation Supervision Regulation ( Citrons) - 1974

This Regulation, of 15 Sections and one Annex, makes provisions for the exportation of Citrons from Israel. Section (1) sets last day for citron exportation to 20 July of each year. Section (2) prohibits the exportation of citrons unless from the variety listed in section (4) and requirements listed in Annex 1 are satisfied. Section (3) prohibits the exportation of citrons by ordinary mail. Section (4) provides for a classification of citrons for exportation purposes. Section (5) to (7) deals with packaging procedures. Exported citrons must be wrapped with a clean cloth, obliquely packed in new and numbered cardboard boxes and of the same variety. Labels must be reported on exported boxes reporting the number of citrons in the box, the variety and the words “Israel Citron”. Sections (8) to (11) provide for inspection and examination procedures. After examination the inspector may authorize the shipment or reject it. An inspection tax must be paid for each citron. Section (12) provides for exemption from these regulations for gift shipments (USA excluded). Sections (13) to (15) give general information.
