Abstract
This Law, of 10 Sections, gives definitions and makes provisions for the Supervision over plant and plant products exportation. Section (1) gives definitions; a Plant is defined any part of plant, fruit included, and products obtained from plants as declared in official publications. Section (2): A person shall not export any plant unless they have been sent to the Inspector and inspector has authorized plants as suitable for exportation. If plants have been rejected for exportation a certificate with the rejection points must be given to the applicant. The inspector has the power to supervise and inspect all steps of a plants production, from fruit-picking to its packaging and conservation. The Minister of Agriculture may exempt some products from inspection if the producer has convinced the minister that production procedures satisfy exportation quality levels. Section (3) provides for an Appeals Committee to be appointed by the Minister of Commerce and Industry for dealing with rejected applications. Section (4) and (5) provide for Consulting Committees to be appointed by the Minister of Commerce and Industry. A Citrus Consulting Committee shall be appointed and committee procedures are listed in section (5). Section (6) provides for regulations to be set by the Minister of Commerce and Industry for the supervision over exportation of non citrus plants. Section (7) sets penalties. Section (8) provide for special exemptions to be officially publicised by the Minister of Commerce and Industry with Orders regarding the exportation of plants to countries that will be listed.
