Abstract
This Act amends the Central Silk Board Act 1948.
Amendments shall include: new definitions to be inserted in section 3; substitution of the words "Chairman" or "Vice-Chairman" with the words "Chairperson" or "Vice- Chairperson" throughout the principal Act; minor changes to sections 4, 6, 7 and 8 on the constitution of the Board and insertion of a new section 4A; insertion of new sections 8A to 8J on the establishment of the Central Silk-worm Seed Committee which shall lay down quality standards for kind or variety of silk-worm seeds, and on the constitution of the Hybrid Authorization Committee who shall recommend to the Committee the kind or variety of silk-worm seed for production and commercial exploitation; insertion of new clauses in section 13 and insertion of new sections 13A and 13B on matters regarding the Central Silk-worm Committee; minor changes to section 14; insertion of a new section 14A on penalties; omission of sections 15 and 15A; and insertion of a new section 16A.
