Abstract
The purpose of this Act is to prevent the introduction and spread of insects or destructive pests affecting crops.
The Central Government shall regulate or prohibit the import into India or the transport from State to State of any article likely to cause infection to any crop. The Central Government may also make rules for the inspection, fumigation, disinfection or destruction of any possibly harmful article or insect.
