Energy Conservation (Amendment) Act, 2022 (Act No. 19 of 2022).

This Act amends the Energy Conservation Act, 2001 (principal Act). In section 2 of the principal Act, new definitions are added for the terms carbon credit certificate, carbon credit trading scheme, energy auditor, registered entity and vessel. Sections 4 and 13 are amended. A new section 13A is added after section 13 of the principal Act. Section 14 and 14A are amended. A new section 14AA is added in respect of carbon credit certificate. Section 15A is added after section 15 of the principal Act and section 16 relating to fund for promotion of efficient energy use is substituted. Section 26 is substituted and a new section 27A is added giving power to state commission to make regulations. Further, sections 28, 56, 57 and 58 of the principal Act are amended.
