Abstract
These Regulations provide standard for Ayurveda Aahara, which is defined as food prepared in accordance with the recipes or ingredients or processes as per method described in the authoritative books of Ayurveda listed under schedule A of the Regulations. Regulation 3 states that Food Business Operators shall formulate Ayurveda Aahara in accordance with the categories and requirements specified in schedule B of the regulations. The Regulations also contain standard and conditions in respect of additives, contaminants, packaging and labelling of Ayurveda Aahara. Regulation 8 prohibits the labelling, presentation and advertisement from claiming that the Ayurveda Aahara has the property of preventing, treating or curing a human disease. As per Regulation 10, for cases where prior approval is needed, the same shall be in accordance with the Food Safety and Standards (Approval for Non-Specific Food and Food Ingredients) Regulation, 2017.
