Abstract
This Act provides for the welfare of labour and regulates the conditions of work in plantations. The Act Contains 43 Sections adivided into 8 Chapters concerning registration of plantations; inspection staff; health provisions; welfare; hours and limitation of employment; leave with wages; accidents; and penalties and procedure.
Every employer of a plantation shall, within a period of sixty days of the coming into existence of such plantation, make an application to the registering officer for the registration of such plantation. In every plantation effective arrangements shall be made by the employer to provide and maintain at convenient places in the plantation a sufficient supply of wholesome drinking water for all workers.
