Plastic Waste Management (Amendment) Rules, 2021.

These Rules amend the Plastic Waste Management Rules, 2016 (principal Rules). Rule 2(1) is amended to expand the scope of the principal Rules to brand-owners and plastic waste processors. In Rule 3, definitions of non-woven plastic bag, plastic waste processing, single-use plastic commodity, thermoset plastic and thermoplastic are added. Rule 4 is amended to include list of items and products made from single-use plastic whose manufacture, import, stocking, distribution, sale and use is prohibited. Further, Rules 5, 6, 7, 9, 11, 12 and 13 of the principal Rules are amended.
