Instructions relative to the Maritime Consultations Bureau (No. 60 of 1993).

The Maritime Consultations Bureau shall be established in the Centre of Maritime Sciences and be attached to the President of the Basrah University. The Bureau shall, inter alia, provide consultations and specialized experience for the development of fish resources and the protection of the marine environment. The institute shall be guided by a supervisory body consisting of a Director-General, a Director, Heads of Sections, and a specialist of maritime law (art. 3). Decisions of this body require approval by the President of the University. The University Council may dissolve the Consultative Bureau (art. 10).
