Law concerning Ports (No. 27 of 1995).

This Act shall apply to all civil ports, the internal waters, and marine areas where ships anchor for a specific purpose such as waiting, loading and unloading or to carry out works (sect. 2). The land and sea boundaries of each port shall be demarcated by resolution of the Council of Ministers. The General establishment of Iraqi Ports shall issue rules regarding the operation of the ports and shall undertake all other tasks outlined in section 4. The Director General of the Establishment is vested with extensive powers to regulate navigation and port safety, water pollution prevention, the operations of importation and exportation agents, registration of ships according to Law No. 19 of 1992 etc. (12 sections)
