Abstract
This Law consisting of 14 articles aims organizing trade operations of agricultural materials and ensuring their compliance with the required standards; controlling import and sale of agricultural materials; protecting safety of agricultural production; increasing farm income by encouraging the cultivation of seeds and the use of appropriate fertilizer. To achieve these objectives the Ministry of Agriculture shall control: the matching between imported agricultural products and required specifications; the licensing system granted for traders and importers; and the entry of seeds and fertilizers to ensure their safety from agricultural pests.
The Act deals also with rules for: import, trading and marketing of agricultural materials; proper storage conditions; licensing and registering for selling these materials; customs formalities; inspections and controls in warehouses and shops; analysis and examinations of the products; and penalties for those who violate the provisions of this Act.
