Abstract
This Law prescribes some measures to prevent from and to fight against animal diseases. The Law defines the animals and the diseases concerned. The veterinarian authority in the Iraqi borders shall check the safety of the imported animals and prescribe a quarantine period. All the imported animals or animal products have to be accompanied by a certificate recognized by the Iraqi veterinarian authority. The Law describes the procedure to be done in case of presence of infected animals. Other provisions concern quarantine, seizure of animals and compensation, notification of diseases, movement of animals, feeding of sick animals, and emergency measures.
