Law No.49 of 2015 - Confirm ownership of the agricultural lands and orchards excluded from the adjustment acts.

This Law consisting of 5 articles aims at regulating the ownership of agricultural lands and orchards excluded from the previous settlement acts or still not settled within and out the boundaries of the Municipality of Baghdad. This in view of the urban development that has occurred on many agricultural lands that became not suitable for agricultural exploitation. The Law establishes that the Land and Expropriation Committees, established by the Agrarian Reform Law of 1970, shall determine the rights of these lands and orchards and remove the definition of agricultural land only if in the old registers of the city were not designated as agricultural land and subsequently transformed into real estate lands.
