Strategic Plan of the Ministry of Planning 2022-2025.

This Strategic Plan is a nationwide multisectoral document developed by the Ministry of Planning for the years 2022 - 2025. The broad targets of the Ministry are (i) achieving economic and social development as well as the optimal use of energies and material and human capabilities; (ii) developing the process of administrative development to raise the efficiency of the performance of the government apparatus. Given these targets, the Ministry seeks to realize the Vision of outstanding planning for sustainable development by (i) activating and coordinating efforts and developing developmental policies, plans, and programs in all economic and social sectors and activities; (ii) improving the quality of government performance; (iii) strengthening partnerships in the public and private sectors. The Ministry gives itself strategic directions at both national and ministerial levels. The national strategic directions are (i) enhancing sustainable development management; (ii) adoption of the human capital building project in Iraq; (iii) being the main sponsor and adopter of the private sector; (iv) adoption of strategic projects for the sectors of transportation, energy, housing, and other strategic sectors; (v) adoption of rural development to achieve balanced growth, social justice and food security; (vi) enhancing the innovation environment in patents and industrial models; (vii) carrying out the general population and housing census with the latest technology; (ix) a leading role in implementing administrative reform and governance of State institutions. While the ministrial strategic directions are (i) improving the legislative and legal environment to carry out its basic tasks and contribute to providing services to the clients; (ii) obtaining the main and active role in drawing development policies and responding to climate change; (iii) developing a comprehensive and integrated national statistical system that has the potential for sustainability and effective impact; (iv) ensuring consumer protection, safety and competitive quality of national products; (v) adopting the leading role in managing the process of reform and administrative development; (vi) enhancing the capacity of the Iraqi accreditation body to improve the efficiency and quality of services provided; (vii) a leading role in development cooperation and partnerships with agencies, international organizations, and standardization bodies; (ix) enhancing the capabilities that enable the highest level of project management and spending efficiency; (x) developing the information and technological infrastructure to achieve the objectives of the ministry; (xi) raising the efficiency of human resources; (xii) developing an environment of creativity in the fields of drawing up policies, methodologies, and processes in all sectors.
