Implementing Regulation on Energy Saving in the Buildings

The Regulation is passed by the Cabinet to implement a number of provisions of the Law on Improvement of the Energy Consumption Pattern. The Regulation, which consists of 6 articles, obliges all construction contractors to comply with all technical requirements of the existing Regulation within the contexts of the National Building Regulations.
The Ministry of Roads and Urban Development is responsible to reduce the energy consumption in all public buildings of the country. In order to increase the number of green buildings, all public entities are required to improve energy consumption patterns of their buildings. All historical monuments and buildings which are recognized as National Heritage, are exempt from this Regulation.
