Abstract
The Act aims to regulate provisions to reduce energy loss from production stage to final consuming stage without reducing the national production and social welfare.
The Act consists of 75 articles divided into 12 Chapters; General Provisions (I); General Policies (II); Structure (III); Standards of Energy Consumption (IV); Energy Consumers in Construction and Urban Development Sectors (V); Energy Consumers in Industries (VI); Energy Consumers in Agriculture Sectors (VII); Transportation (VIII); Energy Producers and Energy Disturbers (IX); Renewable and Nuclear Energy (X); Education (XI); Miscellaneous Provisions (XII).
The core objective of this Act is to change the energy consumption pattern in order to increase the efficiency of the energy use, sustainable development and preserve environment. Policy making in the energy sector as well as optimization of energy production is the duty of the Energy Supreme Council.
