Abstract
The present Act establishes a fee on fishing, for the purpose of meeting the state's costs of research, management, supervision and supervision of fishing and fish processing and to ensure the nation as a whole a direct and visible share in the profitability of fishing for marine resources. Owners of Icelandic fishing vessels are liable to pay a fee in accordance with this Act and are responsible for the payment of a fishing fee on all the vessel's catch from marine resources. The Act sets specific rules on the fee base, for determining amount of the fishing fee for each commercial stock, the calculation of the stock for determining the fishing fee, collection of fees, special fees for whale capture, etc. The transitional provision contains a list of fishing fees for landed catch of each commercial stock, applicable from 1 January to 31 December 2019.
