Abstract
This Regulation sets out minimum requirements for the welfare of cattle. Its objective is to ensure the welfare and health of all cattle with good treatment, care and facilitiess. It provisions are divided in the following Chapters: I. Objectives, scope and definitions; II. Audit and monitoring; III. Treatment and care; IV. Facilities; V. Other provisions. Provisions of this Regulation concern, among other things, cattle general treatment, exercise, rest and needs, feeding, reproduction, transport, infection control, slaughtering, facilities and accommodation, accident prevention, grazing, etc. Violations are subject to sanctions in accordance with the provisions of Act no. 55 on animal welfare. The Regulation contains the following Annexes: I. Minimum sizes of houses, fittings, paths and equipment; II. Assessment of flesh and flesh level; III. Killing.
