Abstract
The present Regulation, issued by the Ministry of Industry and Innovation, lays down rules for the importation of non-sale or distribution animal products for private consumption, which form part of the luggage of tourists or postal items to individuals. Imports from countries outside the European Union of meat, meat products, milk and diary products is prohibited, with the exceptions contained in this Regulation. The Regulation contains rules on the information to be provided to tourists and the general public at all points of arrival to Iceland, as well as the responsibilities of cross-border passenger services and postal services operators.
