Regulation No. 850/2015 on the import of beef cattle genetic material and requirements for the equipment of quarantine stations.

This regulation governs the import into Iceland of deep-frozen genetic material from beef cattle, specifically semen and embryos from approved Norwegian facilities, with the aim of preventing the introduction of infectious animal diseases. It sets permit requirements, origin and health certification rules, transport, packaging, storage and inspection procedures, and strict conditions for the use of imported material only in approved quarantine stations. It also regulates the licensing, biosecurity, hygiene, veterinary supervision, record-keeping, animal movement, disease monitoring, waste disposal and testing obligations for quarantine stations, and provides penalties for breaches under Icelandic animal import and disease-control legislation.
