Abstract
The present Act prohibits the importation into Iceland of animals of any kind, domestic or wild, as well as their genetic material. Exceptions are provided for the importation of live fish, crustaceans or molluscs coming from a farm, at any development stage, including eggs and gametes, and including animals from the wild intended for a farm. When importation is permitted, it shall comply with the requirements of this Act and be accompanied by an official authorization. Moreover, quarantine and isolation stations shall be operated to serve the needs of importation of animals and genetic material.
