Regulation No. 940/2015 on the application and maximum amount of daily fines in official supervision of animal welfare.

This regulation allows the Icelandic Food and Veterinary Authority to impose daily fines on animal keepers when animal conditions or facilities are considered inadequate under animal welfare rules. Fines may be up to ISK 100,000 per day, after the person concerned has been given seven days to submit written objections, and they continue until the authority considers the breach remedied; appeals do not suspend the effect of the fine decision.
