Abstract
The Decree consists of 9 articles and 2 Annexes. Article 1 allows the commercial fishing for fry for human consumption and establishes the modalities for the issuance of fishing licences. Fishing is allowed every year for a period of time not exceeding 60 days from 1 December to 30 April. The Decree sets out the procedure to be followed in order to apply for the authorization. Article 5 concerns the obligation of the shipowner to keep a record of the total catch and the days and zones in which fishing activities have been performed.

The Decree of 12 November 1998 amends this Decree allowing the commercial fishing for fry and "rossetto" (Aphia minuta) for the 1999 fishing campaign. Fishing is allowed from first February 1999 to 15 April in the Liguria maritime district (Imperia, Savona, Genova and La Spezia), from 15 February to 15 April in the Jonio sea (Taranto and Crotone) and from 11 January 1999 to 11 March 1999 in the waters of all the remaining maritime districts.
