Abstract
Derogating from the provisions of Chapter IV, point 2, of the Annex to Legislative Decree No. 155 of 26 May 1997, transport of raw sugar by sea which is not intended for use as food nor as a food ingredient without a full and effective refining process is permitted in receptacles or containers that are not exclusively used for the transport of foodstuffs. The receptacle or container shall be effectively cleaned to remove residues of the previous cargo and other soiling and inspected and the previous cargo shall not have been a liquid. In order to verify compliance withsuch provision, the food business operator responsible for the transport must keep all the documentation concerning the previous cargo. (2 articles)
