Decree of the President of the Council of Ministers 20 July 2012 Identification of functions of the Authority for electricity and gas relating to the regulation and control of water services, pursuant to article 21, paragraph 19 of the Decree-Law of 6 December 2011, n. 201, converted, with modifications, by Law 22 December 2011, n. 214.

This Decree, by taking into account of the Community principles with particular reference to those inherent to the policies of pricing, such as the “polluter pays principle” and principle of full coverage of the cost of the financial service, environmental and resource costs (full cost principle recovery), has the purpose to identify and regulate the functions of the Authority for electricity and gas relating to the regulation and control of water services.
Article 1 of this text regulates the related necessary functions of the Ministry of Environment and Protection of Land and Sea.
Article 2 determines the purpose and inspiring principles of the regulation of the water sector; issues on the identification of integrated water service regulation functions that are transferred to the Authority for electricity and gas are prescribed in article 3; for special provisions for special statute regions and autonomous provinces of Trento and Bolzano, see the contents that are laid down in article 4.
