Abstract
This Decree makes rules in matter of undesirable substances and products in animal nutrition, in accordance with the provisions laid down at Community level by Directive 1999/29/EC which, actually, has been entirely replaced by Directive 2002/32/EC. Feed materials may be put into circulation on condition that they are sound, genuine and of merchantable quality. Annex I establishes the conditions under which certain products or substances may be contained in animal feed. Related maximum levels are set out. Article 5 authorizes the Ministry of Health to apply emergency measures if it deems it necessary to protect public health, animal health or the environment. Local health authorities shall carry out sampling and controls to verify compliance with these provisions (art. 6).

The Decree shall enter into force on 22 July 2003.
Notes
Despite its Title, the present Decree implements Directive 2002/32/EC, since it shall replace Directive 1999/29/EC as from 1 August 2003. In accordance with article 14 (2) of Directive 2002/32/EC, references to Directive 1999/29/EC shall be construed as references to this Directive.
