Abstract
In compliance with the relevant European Community provisions in force, this Legislative Decree lays down rules governing the use of undesirable substances and products intended for animal nutrition. These provisions shall apply without any prejudice to those laid down in the laws and regulations specified in article 1(2). Annex I indicates the substances which are to be considered undesirable for the purpose of animal feeding and prescribes the conditions under which they may be used. Whenever a risk for animal or public health, or for the environment, is assessed, the Ministry of Health shall be entitled to reduce the maximum limits established in Annex I or even prohibit on a temporary basis the use of the substances concerned. Article 8 concerns importation and exportation. Article 9 sets out penalties.
