Legislative Decree 183/2017 implementing Directive (EU) 2015/2193 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 25 November 2015 on the limitation of emissions into the atmosphere of certain pollutants originating from medium combustion plants, as well as for the reorganization of the regulatory framework of establishments producing emissions into the atmosphere (Law 170/2016, Art. 17).

The Legislative Decree 183/2017 (the Decree) implements Directive (EU) 2015/2193 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 25 November 2015 and amends Legislative Decree 152/2006 in several sections. The Decree lays down rules to control emissions of sulphur dioxide (SO2), nitrogen oxides (NOx) and dust into the air from medium combustion plants, as well as to monitor emissions of carbon monoxide (CO). The Decree contain as well provisions that regulate inspection procedures, timeframe for reporting, management in case of incident. The objective is to minimize the release of pollutants into the atmosphere and mitigate the associated hazards to human health and the environment.
