Abstract
This Legislative Decree makes rules governing the production for marketing purposes and the marketing of forest reproductive materials pertaining to the species referred to in Annex I. Forest reproductive material intended for export or re-export are not covered by these provisions. Article 2 gives definitions and provides for the classification of forest reproductive material into (i) source-identified, (ii) selected, (iii) qualified, and (iv) tested. The classification shall be in accordance with Annex VI. Article 3 prescribes the requirements to be met by basic materials. The production, conservation, marketing and distribution for any purpose of the material requires the prior issue of a special licence. Article 13 appplies to importation and exportation. A Technical Commission shall be set up within six months from the date of entry into force of this Legislative Decree. The Commission shall replace the technical and advisory commission established under Act No. 269 of 1973. Article 16 sets out administrative sanctions.
