Abstract
Operators and organizations placing on the market beef and beef products shall label such products at every stage of marketing. In accordance with the compulsory labelling system,the label shall provide the following information: (a) a reference number of the animal; (b) the country where the animal was slaughtered and the number of the slaughterhouse; (c) the country where the animal was sliced and the number of the laboratory; (d) the country where the animal was fed.
Furher indications may be provided in the label, in accordance with the voluntary labelling system. The Circular fully regulates the labelling modalities to be followed in order to ensure a link between, on the one hand, the identification of the carcass, quarter or pieces of meat and, on the other hand, the individual animal.
