Ministerial Circular laying down explanatory guides for the implementation of Legislative Decree No. 65 of 14 March 2003 implementing Directives 1999/45/EC and 2001/60/EC relating to the classification, packaging and labelling of dangerous preparations.

The Ministry of Health has issued the present Circular with a view to clarifying the application of Legislative Decree No. 65 of 2003, which constitutes the legislative framework in matter of classification, packaging and labelling of dangerous preparations. The Circular lays down explanatory guides as regards the criteria to be applied to assess the dangerousness of preparations. Further the Circular outlines the changes made by the Legislative Decree with respect to the previous legislation. The category of hazardous to the environment is for the first time introduced also for preparations.
