Ministerial Circular No. 8 laying down the framework relative to the use of fertilizers in organic agriculture.

The rules governing the application of organic methods for improving soil fertility are laid down in Regulation (EEC) No. 2092/91. At the national level, Act No. 748 of 1984 was enacted to make provision in matter of fertilizers. Without any prejudice to the provisions contained in Ministerial Circular No. 9594661 of 10 October 1995, the present Circular lays down a reference framework in the field of organic fertilizers by interpreting in a coordinated manner the provisions established both at Community and national level. The tables attached refer to those fertilizers which are to be considered as consistent with organic methods.
