Ministerial Decree establishing urgent measures in matter of fishing licences.

The Decree aims at promoting the rational exploitation of the marine living resources and assuring the achievement of the objectives determined in the fifth three-year programme for maritime fishing and aquaculture 1997-99. To these ends the keeping of fishing equipment previously authorized, both in case of registration of the fishing vessel in a different maritime district and in case of engagement in a different type of commercial fishing, is subject to the granting of an authorization by the appropriate Department of the Ministry for Agricultural Policies upon application of the person concerned.
