Ministerial Decree implementing Commission Directive 2001/79/EC of 17 September 2001 amending Council Directive 87/153/EEC fixing guidelines for the assessment of additives in animal nutrition and amending Presidential Decree No. 433 of 2 November 2001.

In implementation of Directive 2001/79/EC, the present Decree amends Presidential Decree No. 433 of 2001 as regards additives in feedingstuffs. Annex D is entirely replaced by the Annex attached to this Decree laying down guidelines for the assessment of additives in animal feedstuffs. The Annex is divided into seven Chapters giving directives for assessing additives other than microorganisms and enzymes. Such assessment is intended to guarantee safety for animals and to avoid any hazards on human health in case of consumption of animal products. Environment impact assessments shall be performed as well, in compliance with point IV.5 of Chapter IV.
