Abstract
This Provincial Act aims at improving the productivity of provincial forest resources and promoting their rational use so as to increase the economic and social conditions of mountains as well as the ecological balance. For these purposes, the Provincial Council prompts the progress of sylvicultural activities and encourages the rational exploitation of forest resources, on the basis of the General Forestry Plan referred to in article 2, and by undertaking the interventions and technical measures laid down in Chapters I and II of the Act. Moreover, the Region shall grant the subsidies and incentives laid down in Chapters III to V. Particular provisions concern the use of damaged forests (art. 11), the marketing of timber which has been produced in forests falling within the territory of Trento (art. 12 bis), the production and purchase of forest and ornamental plants (art. 21). Chapter V of the Act establishes the Provincial Forestry Fund, which is intended to fund the execution and maintenance of forest works and infrastructures. Furthermore, article 29 provides for the setting up of the Provincial Forestry Commission, which shall operate in association with the Forestry Technical Committee referred to in article 31. The administrative provisions adopted by the latter may be contested by resorting to the Provincial Council (art. 32).
