Abstract
This Act sets forth the legislative framework relating to the preservation of biodiversity and the protection of the environment in the Autonomous Province of Trento. It pursues the ecological balance of the provincial territory and its mountain ecosystems. These provisions deal with: (a) plans and programmes to be adopted by the Province in the field of management of forests and mountain areas; (b) setting up of a monitoring and information system for forests and mountain areas; (c) waterworks and interventions in the field of water courses management; (d) hydrogeological restrictions; (e) measures and rules to prevent forest fires; (f) protection of forests against pests; (g) protection of flora and wildlife products such as truffles and mushrooms; (h) protected areas; (i) promotion and improvement of forest resources; (j) incentives and subsidies for the interventions covered by these provisions; (k) forest surveillance system; (l) penalties. The Act sets up the Forest Technical Committee (art. 20) and the Provincial Forest Fund (art. 93). Article 115 lays down the list of provincial acts amended or repealed by these provisions.
