Abstract
This Regional Act lays down provisions for the development of organic farming, in accordance with Council Regulation (EEC) 2092/91 and Legislative Decree No. 220 of 17 March 1995, in order to contribute to the protection of the environmental balance and consumers' health. Any operator who produces, prepares or imports from a third country organic products shall notify this activity to the competent Province and to an authorized inspection body. Article 4 provides for the up-to-date list, containing the names and addresses of the operators subject to the inspection system, to be drawn by the Regional Agency for Agriculture. Operators are subject to the controls carried out by the approved inspection bodies. The supervision of said control system is entrusted to the Regional Agency for Agriculture. Article 7 regards the recognition of organic farmers' associations. In order to boost the development of organic farming, the regional authority shall allocate financial resources intended for the elaboration of information, research and experimentation schemes.
