Abstract
With a view to preventing and reducing the damages caused to crops and cultivated areas (with particular regard to cultivation of cereals and fruits), the present Regional Act allows the taking and hunting of certain bird species, in compliance with article 9 of Directive 79/409/EEC. The two Annexes attached establish the total allowable catch per day, the periods during which the birds may be harvested and the hunting methods which may be used. In case of violation of these provisions, the penalties laid down by Act No. 157 of 1992 and by Regional Act No. 26 of 1993 shall be applied.
