Abstract
The Lombardia Region aims at protecting local biodiversity and zootechnical and forest production as well as soil and water resources. For this purpose, this Act makes provision in order to ensure the restraint of nutrias (myocastor coypus). The Provinces are in charge of the drawing up of plans for reducing nutrias’ population and for the collection and disposal of carcasses (art. 2). Article 3 defines the methods to be undertaken in accordance with article 41 of Regional Act No. 26 of 1993. The Provinces shall also provide for the monitoring of nutrias’ population and subsequently transmit an annual report to the Regional Council and to the National Institute for Wildlife (art. 4).
