Abstract
The environmental impact assessment (EIA) aims at the protection of public health, the improvement of life quality and the preservation of biodiversity. The projects listed out in Annexes A1, A2, A3, B1, B2 and B3 shall not be implemented unless the effects (direct and indirect) that they might have on the surrounding environment are previously valuated. The authority responsible for carrying out the EIA shall guarantee to individuals and legal entities interested access to information and an effective procedural participation.
