Abstract
This Act concerns public control on the trade in agricultural produce, i.e. all produce as set out in the First and the Fourth Schedule to this Act, including coffee and cocoa. The Act, among other things: (a) requires traders and exporters of agricultural produce to obtain a licence of a certain class; (b) requires every licensed produce dealer to keep records on transactions; (c) makes provision with respect to trade in specially protected produce; (d) requires carriers of produce to obtain a carrier’s licence and regulates otherwise the transportation of produce; (e) grants regulation-making and other powers to the Minister for purposes of this Act.
